form studies: mud australia
Disclaimer: This was an unselected client pitch where our team worked with a live brief provided by Mud Australia in association with UAL. This project and its outcomes are not affiliated with Mud Australia in any way.
The timeless, elegant forms and hues of Mud Australia’s porcelain homeware inspired me to create small watercolor illustrations as an exploration of their quality craftsmanship and unique tactility (matte exteriors, the interiors slick from their slip coating) while ideating a pitch for their 30th anniversary celebratory activations during London Craft Week 2025.
I painted some select pieces by dripping watercolor paint on wetted paper, creating organic and imperfect silhouettes. All of Mud’s pieces are made by hand, giving each a touch of Australia’s easygoing spirit.
